Some of the quietest moments are the ones that stay with you the longest.
Contemplation began as a simple shoreline scene, but it became more about presence—the stillness of sitting beside the water, with nothing to do and nowhere to be. The figure and dog are reduced to silhouettes, allowing the focus to rest on the space around them: the soft movement of water, the fading light, and the distance across to the tree line.
Painted in watercolor with loose, layered washes, the piece leans into subtle shifts of blue, green, and warm evening tones. The edges are allowed to soften and bleed, giving the scene a sense of quiet atmosphere rather than sharp detail.
Like much of my work, this painting is less about a specific place and more about a feeling—those shared, unspoken moments that are easy to overlook but hard to forget.
