Welcome to William Palm Fine Art

Welcome! I'm thrilled to share my new online gallery with you, a dedicated space where I can showcase my original oil and watercolor paintings.

For years, I've been captivated by two distinct subjects: the serene beauty of coastal seascapes and the nostalgic charm of railroad scenes. Whether I'm painting the play of light on water or the weathered character of historic trains and stations, I'm drawn to subjects that tell stories and evoke atmosphere.

My Approach to Painting

I work primarily in my studio, painting in oil and watercolor. My process often begins with plein air observation and photography—I spend time on location capturing the light, atmosphere, and essence of a scene. Back in the studio, I use these references to create paintings that preserve those fleeting moments and atmospheric qualities that first caught my eye.

Whether working alla prima or building up layers over time, I focus on capturing the mood and light of each scene. From the dramatic skies of "Light in the Sky" to the vibrant street life of "Main Street Woodbridge," each painting represents a moment that moved me enough to preserve it on canvas.

What You'll Find Here

This gallery features original paintings available for purchase, ranging from intimate 8x10 inch studies to larger statement pieces. Each work is one-of-a-kind, signed, and comes with a Certificate of Authenticity. I've also included room mockups to help you visualize how these paintings might look in your own space.

In addition to originals, I'll be offering prints and digital downloads, making my work accessible to collectors at various price points.

Looking Ahead

I'm excited to use this blog to share stories behind individual paintings, insights into my creative process, and updates about new work. Whether you're an art collector, a fellow painter, or simply someone who appreciates atmospheric landscapes, I'm glad you're here.

Thank you for visiting, and I hope you find a piece that speaks to you.
