About the Artist
Who I Am
I grew up along the southern New Jersey shoreline, where the meeting of light and water first taught me to see the world in color. That early sense of wonder never left me. It just found new subjects. Coastal vistas, lighthouses, vintage locomotives, and the quiet rituals of everyday life all carry the same quality I have been chasing since childhood: the feeling that a moment is worth holding onto.
With over 32 years as a working artist, I have built a practice rooted in observation, light, and the stories that landscapes hold.
What I Paint
I work primarily in oil and watercolor, drawn to the interplay of light, atmosphere, and memory. My paintings are not just landscapes. They are invitations to pause. Whether it is the glow of dawn over a familiar shoreline or the nostalgic silhouette of a passing train, each piece begins as an impression and becomes a story.
I am most alive in the studio during early morning and late afternoon light, those fleeting hours when a place feels both familiar and entirely new.

Teaching & Mentorship
I am an official mentor with Mastrius, an international artist mentorship community connecting painters with experienced educators. Helping other artists find confidence in their own voice is one of the most rewarding parts of my practice.
I also teach adult students in watercolor and oil, working alongside them in the studio and in class. Many of the paintings in this shop were born in those sessions, painted side by side with students as we explored technique, color, and the courage it takes to trust a loaded brush.
A Few Numbers
32 years as a professional artist. 30 years teaching watercolor and oil to students of all levels, including adult classes at South Avenue Arts, Garwood, NJ. Exhibited regionally including at The Artist Framer and Galeria West: The Art Venue. Award winner and juror at plein air events. Official Mastrius mentor, working with painters internationally.
