The tracks dissolve into mist at Cape May Point, where the water has crept in and the old rail line fades into something between memory and reflection. A ghostly industrial structure rises from the stillness, its steel skeleton mirrored perfectly in the glassy shallows — as if the past and present are suspended in the same breath of fog.

Loose watercolor washes carry the atmosphere here, letting the soft grays and warm earth tones bleed and settle the way morning mist actually does — unhurried, uncertain at the edges.

I've been drawn to the ghost tracks at Cape May Point for a long time. There's something haunting about infrastructure that the water is slowly reclaiming — rails that once carried passengers now leading nowhere, or maybe somewhere just out of sight. This painting is my attempt to sit with that feeling rather than explain it.

For the collector who finds beauty in forgotten places and the quiet drama of industrial history meeting the natural world. This one would feel at home in a study, a library, or any space that welcomes a little mystery.
