About this painting

I’ve been drawn to the ghost tracks at Cape May Point for a long time. There’s something haunting about rails fading into water and mist, somewhere between memory and reflection. A Mirage Along the Rails is my attempt to sit with that feeling rather than explain it.

Loose washes of soft gray and warm earth tones let the atmosphere settle gently around the reflected steel structure. It’s a quiet meeting of industrial history and the natural world, for a space that welcomes a little mystery.
