About this painting
Some of the quietest moments are the ones that stay with you the longest. I painted A Quiet Place to Think to capture the stillness of sitting beside the water, with nothing to do and nowhere to be.
A figure and dog appear in silhouette against soft water and fading light. Loose, layered washes of blue, green, and warm evening tones give the scene a gentle atmosphere. For me, it’s less about a particular place than a feeling: a quiet moment that stays with you.
