Sunlight filters through the canopy of Conant Park, moving across winding paths and settling on the calm water beneath a wooden bridge — a quiet Saturday afternoon held still in oil on linen.
Working in layered oils on linen, I built up greens and warm earth tones to capture the shifting patterns of light and shadow as they play across the grass and reflect in the water below.
I was drawn to this spot on a simple afternoon walk. There was nothing dramatic about the moment — just that particular quality of light through trees that makes a familiar place feel worth pausing for. That stillness is what I wanted to hold onto.
For the collector who finds beauty in everyday places — this painting lives comfortably in a study, a reading room, or anywhere that calls for a breath of quiet.
