About this painting

Takes Me Away began as a feeling more than a plan: that late-afternoon light when the water goes still and the world seems to exhale. I wanted to hold the warmth, the openness, and the quiet pull of the horizon.

Fluid washes of gold, soft blue, and luminous white carry the summer light, with a sail catching its glow. Watercolor felt right for that fleeting moment, a little coastal stillness to live with.
