A moment in New Jersey's railroad past
In Garwood '47, I revisit Garwood Station during the steam era, before the original station was destroyed by fire. This original watercolor brings a piece of local railroad heritage into an intimate 9 × 12-inch painting.
Blue and violet clouds gather above the station as a steam locomotive waits beside the platform. Figures, railway signals, and overhead wires give the scene its human scale, while pools of yellow light and reflections across the wet ground draw the eye toward the train.
Part of my ongoing railroad series, this painting celebrates the trains, stations, and communities that helped shape New Jersey's history. The loss of the original station makes this subject a particularly meaningful tribute to a familiar place from an earlier time.
For a collector with a connection to Garwood or a love of steam-era railroads, this is a small original with a story to spend time with. Choose the unframed painting for your own framing plans, or select the framed option. Your original includes a Certificate of Authenticity and ships insured.
Room views and framing mockups are illustrative, not photographs of the supplied frame or guarantees of exact scale. Refer to the painting's 9 × 12-inch dimensions; the actual supplied frame may differ.
