Light against the coastal night

In Pigeon Point Nocturne, I bring together the warmth of a lighthouse lantern and the restless movement of water after dark. Violet and deep blue surround the tower, while a glowing moon and a bright band of light give the night sky its atmosphere.

Below, waves break against the rocky shore. Pale foam and yellow-green reflections move through the dark water, carrying the eye toward the lighthouse and the small buildings beside it.

Part of my “Bring the Shore Home” exhibition, this painting offers a coastal presence that is both dramatic and contemplative. Its vertical 16 × 12-inch format invites a closer look at the contrast between steady light and moving sea.
