Scenic Demo: Winter Snow

A city dissolves into winter haze, its skyline and bridge barely visible through a veil of cloud and snow-light, the whole scene suspended between sky and water in a palette of soft blue and cream.

Wet-into-wet washes build the luminous, overcast sky, while the faintest suggestion of a suspension bridge and distant buildings anchors the composition without breaking the mood.

I painted this as a class demo to show how much atmosphere you can create by leaving things out. The restraint is the painting.

A piece for anyone drawn to quiet winter days and the poetry of a city seen through snow, equally at home in a modern interior or a cozy reading corner.
